Peter and Stephen Mandal from the Lightbox Project will demonstrate the ancient crafts of Stone Knapping (Stone Tool Making) and Cordage (rope/string etc) Making at Brú na Boinne in August 2010.

The Newgrange Lightbox Project |

In 2009, a project was run to 'recreate' the Lightbox at Newgrange for the Winter Solstice.
Students from IADT, some IAFS and CRDS Archaeologists (IAFS - Irish Achaeological Field School is part of CRDS) and a lowly Engineer from Progression... all triggered and funded by Niall Martin of RTÉ fame.
